Hi John,

I can't figure out how to post the photos I took (just for you) of the ridge where we saw the cats (in October 2006) but if you
e-mail me I will sent them to you in an attachment.

Being there again cleared up a lot for me - namely that I was wrong in the directions I gave you below, (sorry!) relative to the google photo Gerry posted.

Here are corrected directions: Start with the "B" in Buffalo Ford and go up to the skyline, then follow it LEFT (west) until you get to the overlap mountain. That overlap is the furthest east I saw the cats. I first saw them about half way between that overlap and the high point on that part of the ridge (to the west).

I distinctly remembered losing them in the overlap but I picked the wrong overlap in Gerry's photo. Turns out the Google photo is fairly distorted (as you'll see when you get mine). I hope that's not too confusing!

P.S. About Boulder pullout. There is a large boulder close to the road at the western end of that pullout and a small hill on the eastern end with a path leading up to the top, which is crowned with several more boulders handy for sitting on while you are scoping. It's an ideal spot for viewing the surrounding area: Junction Butte to the west, the high ridge (including the rocky Mom's ridge) to the north and the marshy area below it (popular with elk and bison), and the Peregrine Hills to the east. It also affords a good view to the south and southeast as well.
