Thanks so much for the reply Grizguy! Elephant Back Mountain does look like a really good choice for us, especially since we'll be staying in Grant Village. It looks like the view is awesome! I can imagine the mosquitos can be very bad around any of the lakes in Yellowstone during the summer, so we'll definitely be prepared. I'm glad to hear that Fairy Falls themselves are nice. Do they flow year-round? Do you think it would even be worthwhile during early August, or would there just be hardly anything flowing?

Also, have you ever hike Avalanche Peak? I haven't been able to get too many responses about Avalanche Peak & would love to hear an opinion about it.
