It would be a great trip. Roosevelt/Lamar area would be great for wildlife. Don't rule out Lake Hotel cabins (near Hayden Valley & East Entrance Rd. for wildlife and Grand Canyon of Yellowstone for geology) either or Old Faithful (the thermal features and near Madison Jct. to W. Yellowstone for wildlife). Reserve direct with the park concessioner Xanterra at www.travelyellowstone.com. Or Gardiner and W. Yellowstone have accommodations bordering the park. I would highly recommend traveling through the Tetons, just to see the scenery, in my opinion the most beautiful mountains in U.S.
