Hi Sowmya,
We stayed at the Canyon Cabins last year and we did eat at the restaurant once without reservations, but we got there kind of early; the food was pretty good.
The cafeteria made an awesome peanut butter, raisin, and banana on multi-grain bread sandwich. For $5 or $6 you could order a bag lunch to take hiking. You got your
choice of sandwich, chips, a piece of fruit and a drink...a pretty good deal, and like I said the sandwich was great! Hopefully, they still do that. The other food there was fair and not too terribly expensive.
Enjoy your first visit...Yellowstone will blow you away!!!!
