: : : : : Does anyone know the name and location of the "hot spring river" that is located by Gardner. I swam there a few years ago with my Mom and sister. My hubby and I will be visiting in September and I want to bring him there, but I forgot exactly where they are. Can anyone shed some light?
: : : : Dear Emily :
: : : : Was the "hot spring river you visited several years ago located inside Yellowstone Nat'l Park? If it was, it is called the Boiling River. Actually, it is the Gardiner River, named for the hot spring waters which come from adjacent hot pools and spill their contents into the Gardiner River. Hopes this helps you remember.

: : : THE BOILING RIVER! That's it! Thanks Mardell. You don't happen to know where the entrance is do you? Once again, I forgot.
: : Hello Emily,
: : The entrance is just north of the 45th parallel sign just north of Mammoth. There are two parking areas, one on each side of the road. I hope that helps and have fun. Take care!

: Once again John, thanks for the info. If only I had taken notes last time I was in the park. Then I wouldn't feel like such an idiot for not remembering. I guess I was taken in by the beauty of the place. See ya.

There has not always been a parking lot near the 45th parallel sign. When I lived in Livingston in the early 1980's there was no parking lot as the "park" frowned on "hot Potting" as we called it. Since then it has been approved by the park service and parking lots have been built. So you may not remember it because there were not there :)
Enjoy yourself!
