: We will be arriving in Yellowstone Sept. 3 for 10 days. We have gone in June the two previous times and wanted both times to drive the Beartooth Highway but it was closed, once because of a storm and once because it had not yet been cleared. Has anyone driven it recently or know what the conditions are right now? What kind of conditions can we expect at the time we are going?
: Any information would be appreciated.

Kitty,

At the time of year that you are intending to hit
the Beartooth pass, almost anything could happen.
Three years ago, my wife and I went up the highway
on the 31st of August, and hit a major blizzard on
top of the mountain. You Should be prepared to use
an alternate route just in case. Right now the road
is open and clear...was on it yesterday...
Road reports won't do you much good. The weather
up there can change in a matter of minutes....so the
best thing to do is stop at the foot of the pass and
ask the locals.

Have a nice trip...

David
