Hello All,
First, my compliments to the folks responsible for this wonderfully informative site!
I'm going to spend three days in Yellowstone and three days in Grand Teton, and have planned two nice day hikes into "nature".
I plan on taking the "7 mile hole trail" metioned on this web site that goes to the bottom of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.
Bears were mentioned in the description and I'm a little nervous about that... ( looking for encouraging words :-) ).
Also in Teton I plan to hike up to Amphitheater Lake.
Has anyone out there hiked either of these?? I know I will enjoy them but is there anything helpful anyone can add ??
Like (very strenuous, takes a whole day, leave later in the day, early in the day, or don't carry too much....
All comments would be helpful!!
Two years ago I got an opportunity to, very briefly, drive through Yosemite National Park. I was awe-struck, as you can imagine, and long for some hiking into the mountains and nature...
Looking forward to an awe-inspiring trip to Yellowstone/Grand Teton area.....
Thanks for any and all input,
Dave
