Griz Trax: How thankful we are that you told us about Leigh
and String Lakes. We were unable to get a camping permit for
the day we wanted and the next best day a storm was predicted.
We did hike back to Leigh and counted off the paces to portage
our canoe just to make sure it would be possible for us. With
a 16 ft. hand-built, cedar canoe we saw that we could use our
canoe wheels as long as it didn't get more muddy on the trail
(lots of rain the last couple of weeks.) We did take our boat
out on Two-Ocean Lake. You were right! No people. We were the
only ones canoeing on the lake. Several hikers and fishermen
were there, but it WAS wonderful! Thanks!
