I think most of the places are first come, first serve. Some are closing the first week of September. You can call (307) 344-2107 and speak with the National Park Service folks there. You can call (307) 344-7311 for camping reservations at places like Canyon, but it closes the first week of Sept.
There is a page somewhere on this site where you can read the rules for back country camping/ dealing with bears.
