Winter Speaker Series Presentations

The National Park Service and the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center, an educational non-profit bear and wolf preserve, offer free programs for the public. Programs are held at the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center, 201 South Canyon Street, West Yellowstone, MT.

Tuesday, February 11 at 7:30 p.m.
Nature of Yellowstone, with an Emphasis on Winter Photography. Ken Takata, renowned local photographer, will share his techniques for photographing Yellowstone in winter.

Thursday, February 20 at 7:30 p.m.
3,000 Days on Snowshoes: Elk, Bison and Wolf Studies on the Madison, Firehole and Gibbon Rivers. Dr. Bob Garrott, professor of wildlife ecology at Montana State University, will focus on the results of more than ten years of research, including the impacts of wolf restoration.

Wednesday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m.
Living with Bears.
Kerry Gunther, Yellowstone National Park bear biologist, and Kevin Frey, Montana Division of Fish, Wildlife and Parks biologist, will talk about the bears of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and provide tips on co-existing with bears.
